We, the Outcasts of a Killing Sun

(Independently published Jan. 20, 2020)
A boy has a secret friend, a leviathan, buried beneath the tallest dune on the wild English coast close to where he lives with his father in an old coastguard’s house. When a strange new girl arrives at his school nobody likes her much; her hair is a mess, her clothing is musty, she has a pair of mischievous white mice and she carries a strange walking stick. One day, in a fit of temper the girl does something dreadful to the teachers and pupils of the school. She is left with no choice but to flee. The boy with the secret friend decides to help her and pursued by the police, they set out together on an amazing journey. Never in a million years could they have anticipated the unusual places they would discover, nor the strange people they would encounter, or the dangers they would face along the way. But most incredible of all, they could not have imagined, even in their wildest dreams, the circumstances of how their adventure would end. But one thing was for certain - they would never again return home. A modern adventure story infused with Roman mythology. Suitable for readers aged 9 to adult.
