Yathni’s paternal grandfather guides her on moral values through the practices of Hindu religion. Impressed by her devotion and conduct, Lord Ganesha, along with his consorts-Siddhi and Buddhi-takes her on an excursion to Kailash. Ganesha brings the Pushpaka Vimanam-the celestial airplane- to take Yathni to Kailash. On the way, there are two halts-one at the North Pole and another at Moon. Her experiences on this unique journey form the basis of the story.
The story is a mixture of facts and fiction. Awareness material regarding North Pole, the Moon, the outer space, biodiversity, environment etc has been introduced. The messages regarding the need to save the endangered species, to save the earth from global warming, avoiding pollution etc besides value systems and anecdotes from Hindu religion have also been given at appropriate places. The book is for all type of readers and specially for youngsters above twelve years of age.
Quotations have been given from the religious texts and other literature. These quotations are from various languages-Sanskrit, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarathi and Hindi.
