Advent is the four weeks leading up to Christmas. The Storybook Advent Calendar includes a number of classic Christmas Stories by many of the most beloved writers of all time including Charles Dickens, Hans Christian Anderson, Khalil Gibran and Robert Lewis Stevenson in addition to 7 original stories written specifically for this book.
Stories can be read in order like an Advent Calendar, or kept separately as a children's short story collection at anytime throughout the year. With each story the authors include bio and historical information about that writer and the pieces he/she is most famous for as well as the year the story was written. The last 3rd of the book includes the words to the 20-classic Christmas Carols found on the Storybook Advent Carols Collection Volume one. As with each of the stories, notations are added to tell you when the song was written, when it was scored, what country and any other little tidbits available.
