Laddie lives the life that some teenagers dream of. His home is a fairground, he has no parents to nag him and more money under his bed than he can spend. But be careful what you wish for. Laddie's life isn't a bed of roses. He's lonely, it's Christmas Day, and he wants to escape the tinsel, the turkey, the lot. So he sets off to hide in a secret place where he can sulk in peace. Getting there isn't as straight forward as he had hoped. Disturbing a gang of boys up to no good is only one of his woes. The real problem is the damn fox that won't leave him alone. It's all going wrong but, hey, it's Christmas, events take a different turn and mysterious goings-on means that Laddie's life changes for ever.
