Meet fourteen year old Harlie Castleberry. She’s recently moved to the mountain town of Cleveland, Georgia to live with her estranged mother after her father is killed in a construction accident. She arrives with an attitude and a chip on each shoulder.
Harlie changes her attitude upon discovering the family secret. And when she becomes a target for an ancient being not of this world - a being only she can vanquish - Harlie quickly learns that she and a mother she’s never known until now have a lot more in common than Harlie realized.
With the help of distant cousin Tomahawk Billy - half Cherokee Indian - Harlie begins a journey of self-discovery which will bring her face-to-face with an evil which has walked this world for centuries.
