Kelly Kidnapped: A Young Adult Horror Story
Kelly’s life is just hell. She’s smart, sweet, and tries her best, but that doesn’t make a difference. Her brother is too busy to listen to her any longer. Her mom is always drunk. Her dad is always gone. Why does life have to be…life? Things are about to get worse, though, because someone knows about her secret hideaway where she plays her music and gets lost in the melody, and that someone has decided to take her!
Kelly Kidnapped is the first story in the Kelly’s Freedom series from Northern Starlight Young Adult Press, which tells the story of a teen girl’s escape from a life of pure hell. It made me feel like a retard going to it, though it was actually a class for super smart kids. Smart or retard, it didn’t matter. It was like a neon sign flashing over my head screaming DIFFERENT! NOT NORMAL! in bright flashing letters. I was with in there with ten other kids. A popular girl, myself, and nerds made up the class. We stayed in the class the whole day, only transitioning once to go to lunch.
It was so boring all of the time. All the girls in the class hated me because I was smarter than them. I had no friends at this school. I had been going to this school for two months, and the girls hated me. The boys weren’t any better. Only perverted guys had talked to me, though plenty had slapped my rear. Jerks.
I waited for about an hour for my ride to come and get me. Carter had already gone home with his girlfriend. I decided my ride wasn't coming to get me. I sighed, picked up my backpack full of heavy textbooks and began to slowly cross the parking lot. I was about halfway across the lot when a car came speeding down. I screamed, and the car would have hit me but he slammed on the brakes in the nick of time. "YOU ASS!!" I screamed!
He looked pissed and shouted out, "Move your effing butt!!" He didn’t really say effing, but you get the picture. I was really mad. Move my butt? Okay!
I turned around, mooned him and wiggled my butt. "WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE, YEAH!" I screamed at him. Then, I pulled up my pants and promptly turned back to face him and flipped him off. I felt pretty good about myself as I walked away, but my face flushed when I wondered if any of the butt slappers had seen what they’d been spanking. I guess the thought made me walk a little faster on my way home.
