Shadows

language ( March 26, 2012)
An orphan by chance and a loner by choice, Alida had only one wish for her 16th birthday - to go away - far away, preferably in her own car. Her wish almost comes true when she awakens the morning of her birthday and discovers that she is now in the 19th Century. She’s a time-traveler, and her guardians had conveniently forgotten to share this little tidbit of information with her.

As Alida is taken to live at Aldrich, a school for those with gifts like hers, she discovers that time-travel has been suspended and the school has been stuck in the 19th century for over 16 years. There are those that suspect this suspension may have to do with Alida’s mother, a mother that hasn’t been seen since shortly after Alida’s birth.

Even in this new century she's bullied and pushed beyond the edge by others who feel threatened by her presence. Her strength and security in herself catches the eye of Blake – who has secrets of his own, as he feels compelled to protect her from harm as she finds herself stalked by the Aschanwold, a sinister group of people who can walk in shadow and ruthlessly destroy any and all who stand in their way and who want to use Alida as a pawn to find her mother whom they believe holds the key to moving time travel along.
