Thru-Haikus: Poems from an Appalachian Trail Thru-hike

On April 1, 2017, Scott Durkin and his 14 year-old son, Aidan began their Appalachian Trail Thru-hike. Over the next 133 days, they hiked the length and breadth of the 2,189 mile trail from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine. In lieu of a journal, they chronicled their journey by writing haikus to capture the essence of each day.
