Meet Tommy the Tree, a wise positive thinking, affirmation saying tree. Tommy lives in Perky Park with his friends Sam the Squirrel and Becky Blue Bird and the children that come to play. When news comes that Tommy will soon be trimmed his friends panic and talk about how bad the event will be for everyone. However, Tommy stays positive and welcomes the change.
Even though he will loose branches, Tommy knows it all works for the good of everyone. Trimming the unnecessary brings Tommy out healthier and everyone benefits. No matter what happens, no matter what his friends say, “Tommy will be strong and not afraid today, He is sure in his heartwood he will be OK.”
Written in rhyming lyrical words with bright colorful illustrations, this story teaches the power of staying positive, how cutting out the unnecessary can help with future growth, and horticultural terms like trimming and buds and branches.
