Prehistory

Prehistory is the time before people kept written records. In Europe - the subject of this book - written records began around 700 BC in Greece, but most of Europe remained prehistoric until the Romans conquered it. With no written evidence to help them, archaeologists have to become detectives, searching for clues that will enable them to reconstruct a picture of our prehistoric past. What clues should we look for? How should we interpret them? This book sets out to provide the answers.
