In the year of the Golden Cow 120E1, the War of Rattan aggression had ended in a four way stalemate; neither side could gain ground for the gods had jumped four times upon the penumbra of the sun and caused the world to shaking in their bouncy fury. Now peace was declared, a brittle and frail peace like the calm before a storm. The kingdoms were in shambles; the former king of Rattania, Lord Nibbles Cheese-eater, had fallen out a window and into a vat of boiling beans that were being prepared outside for his garden party that evening. The overcrowded funerary service, it is sad to say, ran out of pitta bread halfway through; much to the dismay of the assembled Rattanians.
