This is a story that starts in the year 1930, about a little boy from Benton, Tennessee. He has been left alone after losing his entire family to a house fire. Since no other relatives would take him in, he was sent to an orphanage. There he devises a plan and runs away. During his escape he meets a man named Jake. The two then start riding the rails together and meet a lot of different people. Some people they met during this era were sympathetic and others not so much. The friends they made along the way create a one of a kind family. This is his journey to find where he belonged and where he would find love.
