EXCELLENT - I Want a Pet is a charming, level 1 storybook for first-time readers from the Start to Read! series. It's a very relatable story about picking out a pet and how a little girl holds firm to what she wants and doesn't want in a pet. I Want a Pet has beginning vocabulary, many basic sight words, and a short sentence or two on each page. The story introduces 9-50 new words, and the repetition, short sentences and entertaining illustration clues will add up to reading success.
