Counting Counts

This book is the first in an intended sequence of numerically oriented mathematics books for preschool through 2nd grade depending on the child's abilities. It is intended to be read with an adult present or by an adult with the child. It is designed to provoke discussions. Besides the mathematics, the intention is to support family, education, respect for others and self.
A first book in a second sequence of mathematics books centered on geometry for young children has already been launched. The Title is: Getting Into Shapes.
The author's goal is to intervene in the negative influence our society has towards mathematics. He feels that if he is going to have an impact he needs to start with the young. The author holds a Master's Degree in Mathematics, taught college level and high school level mathematics and was a school administrator.
