Excerpt from Half-Hours With the Millionaires
MY editor, a very high class editor, had com missioned me to write a series of vacation articles on millionaires. Though I lived then on the edge of Camberwell, where one might expect to find them, it so happened that I knew of none there. SO I went to the city to pick up materials. I thought that I should breathe them in between Lombard Street and Founder's Court, if only I kept my mouth open wide enough. Somehow I did not. London is not like Paris, where you have but to go to the Café de la Bourse, and pick your millionaires by watching who eat most sauce. Hereabouts they are secretive.
