Tan Xi, a young Chinese immigrant, is placed in a foster home when his mother is forced to run from the Shadow Dragon Triad. When he learns that dangerous gang has captured his mother, he runs away from the house into the night without a plan. He encounters a group of five mystical Kung Fu creatures called The Protectors. They lead Tan Xi, his friend Sammy, and Kayla and David, his ‘foster siblings’, in a fight to free his mother and defeat the Shadow Dragon.
