In a remote, bottomless lake shrouded in ancient Sioux mystery, Jake discovers a living dinosaur. A friendly aquatic reptile he names - Charlie. Jake is taken by his new friend on a dangerous voyage deep beneath the crystal blue waters of Monster Lake. In an ancient cavern, Jake finds a prehistoric world full of pterodactyls, giant crocodiles and most importantly, a strange message etched in stone. Jake must decipher a two hundred year-old warning from his great-grandfather, the mysterious and powerful Medicine Man, Blackbear.

When Jake returns above ground, a dangerous and greedy cowboy becomes determined to capture Charlie. Charlie's entire world is about to be destroyed unless Jake can stop him.
