Excerpt from The Little Green Gate
White and creeper-clad, built half -way up a wooded hill, and facing south with an open View of mping meadow-land in front of it, and beyond that a shining strip of sea. The house is of many roofs, set at all angles, and made up Of all dim, subdued colours, tiles mellowed with age. It stands in a garden, slanting in front, in terraced levels behind it. This front garden is a neat affair, set beds shaped into stars and crescents with gay, orderly flowers therein - geranium edged.
