THE CHILDREN OF CH4ERNOBYL

Paperback (Independently published July 26, 2014)
Genetic mutations resulting from the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986 had unusual results. Adults exposed to the radiation release bore children with expanded environmental tolerances and more. A group of academics were studying these children for purely scientific reasons (rapid evolution of a new species of humans), and published their initial results in professional journals. An unintended reader of their articles included a terrorist group who sought to exploit the children’s powers in a scheme to control world energy supplies. The terrorists threatened to set off naturally occurring, highly flammable deposits of frozen methane (chemical formula: CH4). The scientists eventually realizing that their studies were being used for kidnapping, child abuse, high jacking, blackmail, and murder sought to use some the children’s powers and scientific knowledge against the terrorists. A back-and-forth struggle ensued between the scientists and the terrorists in locales around the world. The novel climaxes in a cataclysmic event that exemplifies one of the inner workings of Mother Nature.
