Mrs McVittie and the Woolly Hat Cats: Mystery, adventure and magic. It's what happens when your school cook is a witch.

Mrs McVittie, Jack and Amy's favourite school cook is a 400 year old witch (thrown out of the Loch Ness Witches' Circle for turning the tea bags into frogs). She has a flying armchair and a handbag full of spells (some still work properly too).
When three kittens are rescued from the river, Mrs McVittie is called into action to find the culprit. But it takes all the detective skills of her favourite children Jack and Amy to find the evidence along with a little help from Mister Snuffles the hedgehog (level 3 in Speaking Human – could do better.).
Meanwhile, in the magical land of Chestnut Garden – go down the High Street and turn left, then jump through the second hedge on the right - there's cloud catching to be done, Ellabee the serenading ladybird is looking for love, the Twitterbirds are busy spreading gossip, policemen are being turned into frogs, and you still have to learn your five times table.... It's a lot to fit into a school day.
