Fear and Laundry 2

language (Elizabeth Myles Nov. 25, 2014)
In this sequel to Fear and Laundry, high school senior Veronica Montez tries to navigate the ups and downs of her relationship with her first-ever boyfriend, Jake, a guitarist whose rock band seems suddenly poised to hit it big.

**********

Veronica thought dating a musician would be pretty awesome. And it mostly is. Jake is sexy, brilliant, passionate about his craft—and so crazy about Veronica that he’s soon talking about wanting to spend the rest of his life with her! But after witnessing her father walk out on her mother years ago, Veronica doesn’t believe in “happily ever after” anymore. And she’s worried that despite his promises, Jake won’t really stick around forever, either. When his band gets the opportunity to go on tour, she knows it won’t be long before Jake leaves her behind, possibly for a long time. Why wouldn’t he, when signing on for the gig could mean his big break? And once he’s away, what are the chances he won’t forget all about Veronica? Not very good, considering he’ll be hitting the road with his ex-girlfriend—a talented and alluring drummer with an obvious lingering crush on Jake—and tons of groupies tempting him at every stop on the tour.

Veronica tries hard to be supportive of her boyfriend’s dreams and optimistic about their future together. But while Jake seems to think their relationship will have the staying power of the Rolling Stones, Veronica’s all but convinced it’s doomed to flame out faster than a one-hit wonder.

(This book contains some strong language, teenage drinking, sexual situations, and discussions of sex.)
