One year ago, Julie stood on Tim’s porch, trembling and sobbing in the autumn rain. It was the night he died. Brandon, Julie’s brother and Tim’s best friend. Undone by grief, she collapsed into Tim’s arms. The two haven’t spoken since. Tim’s been at college, trying to forget about death. And Julie...well, she hasn’t been speaking to anyone lately.
When Tim reluctantly returns home to observe the one year anniversary of Brandon’s death, he discovers a Julie he doesn’t recognize - bitter and angry. But she isn’t the only one struggling with her brother’s death. All of those closest to Brandon have stumbled in their pursuit of healing and normalcy.
To make matters worse, someone has been spray painting inflammatory messages on Brandon’s grave. Secret feelings are about to explode into the light, forcing everyone to reprocess what they knew about Brandon and themselves.
Can this weekend of remembering bring closure to those Brandon loved? Or will it break them completely?
