Poppy the Pony

Hardcover (Trafford Publishing June 1, 2007)
Kids like to "fit in". They don't like to be "different". Through this story children may learn that what makes them different is what makes them special and every child is special is some way. Kids everywhere can be proud of what they are. A loveable pony called Poppy and her mother live on Farmer Bill's farm. Poppy is sad because she is so little. She wants to be big like the other horses. Her mother tells her over and over again that everyone has something that makes him or her special and being little is what makes Poppy special. Poppy still feels sad. One day a frolicking group of first graders visits their farm. The children are enchanted by Poppy the pony and lavish all their love on her. Poppy finally understands. She is proud of what she is, accepting the fact that being little is what makes her truly special.
