Chip, of the Flying U

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform March 16, 2016)
The boys of the Flying U ranch aren’t tickled when they hear that the Old Man’s sister is coming to stay at the Ranch over the summer. First they’re determined that she’ll be harsh-nosed and crabby, then that she’ll be a brainless twit no good for anything. All of their imagination could not have prepared them for the real woman. Della Whitmore arrive young, fresh, intelligent, and quite eager to enter into the fun – and pain – of ranch life. She studied to be a doctor back east, and from the letters she gets from one ‘Dr. Cecil Graham’, it appears that she’s to be a doctor’s wife, too. But “Chip”, the ranch’s prime hand, comes under the magnetism of Della’s presence. She, too, does not seem insensitive to their growing attraction. Their friendship is further bolstered as Della saves the life of Chip’s horse and encourages him in his remarkable artistic skills. But is their friendship destined to be only that – friendship? Or will Cecil Graham prove to be no competition for Chip?
