Humble Frog and His 127 Music Loving Friends
Paperback
(CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform Aug. 30, 2013)
Humble Frog is a delightful story of the Father of all frogs. He was blessed with the most beautiful of voices. Animals from all over the world came to hear him sing and perfect their own voices. When the local King hears of this he summons Humble Frog to the castle to perform for the court. In his pride, he stops singing for his friends. He must save his voice, for now he will be famous and live in the high mountain Palace with the King. However, the change from damp swamp to dry palace permanently changes his voice to an enormous "Burrump!" Humble Frog is expelled from the palace as an Imposter and sent back to the swamp where his 127 animal friends celebrate his return. While his old beautiful voice is still gone, to the ears of his True Friends, the new "Burrump" is still beautiful. At the end of the book the parents and children are invited to go back and identify each of the animals found decorating the pages of the story. This book gives parents and grandparents a "teaching moment" to discuss with their children the values of true friendship and the pitfalls of pride. The interactive nature allows this book to be read over and over again as the children come to recognize 127 animals by name and description. This is truly a wonderful family values book.
