The Magic Ring

language ( June 4, 2016)
From an old African fable comes the tale of a young orphan boy and his struggle with loss and finally victory. Left without land or money, he does have three companions (some might call them pets). Together, they face homelessness, hunger, entrapment, and a tricky, evil old man. With quick thinking, cooperation, and loyalty, they secure the Magic Ring and their futures.

It's easy to define a folk tale. It's a story with a moral or a lesson. It's meant to teach, and help the reader become a better person. In many tales, especially those from Africa, the characters are animals.
These animals act and talk just like people. Most of the time, they also represent a human trait. The dog is faithful; the cat is smart: the lion is brave, and the tortoise is deceitful. But all of the animals keep their animal traits.
