Station 5
Paperback
(Independently published Jan. 31, 2019)
As a precaution against war, the Earth had built a series of space stations that orbit on different axis. This allows them to detect any problems that may be occurring anywhere around the world. The last of those stations was Station 5.It was the smallest, but it was the newest. It covered North America from coast to coast and a portion of each major ocean on either side. Parts of South America and even Antarctica. Depending on the orbit, it could, also, cover parts of the Arctic region. Earth was no utopia, but we were at peace at this time. That is why I felt it was a good decision when I accepted a position on Station 5 as Second in Command in Engineering. It was to be my last posting, after a long and sometimes not so illustrious career, in the military. Five years on a space station, and then retirement. The plan was flawless. What could go wrong? That was the wrong question to ask. Within weeks of our deployment, my raw cadets found themselves fighting for their very lives against a warring race from across the galaxy that has decided they want Earth. This is the story of our fight to preserve our way of life. Most of all, it is a story of love and trust between two individuals that find life on a space station is not so bad once you get used to it.
