The Mad Moose

Paperback (Eloquent Books Sept. 17, 2009)
A young moose idolizes his father and can't wait to be just like him, but he also wishes for a closer relationship. The youngster is full of energy and curiosity and is willing to try anything that seems fun, including mimicking other animals. But how can you make your father have fun when he is respected for being the biggest animal in the forest? For one young moose, it's a daunting challenge. As they travel through the woods together, the son knows when he grows up he wants to be just as big and strong as his father. But until then, he just wants to have fun. As the two meet other animals in the forest, the little moose tries to mimic them, showing his father that they can have fun just like a squirrel or a rabbit. In the end, the moose calf learns he can have fun simply by being himself, while his father learns that he can be big and strong, and still be able to play with his son. Author Daniel Kawecki is working on his next children's book. He lives in Montreal where he is a supervising cook in a sports bar.
