I don’t know about you, but if I met a dragon, I would be afraid too! However, I think this delightful story by A. Woodley explains how we often judge people by how they look or what they have. For example, by their clothes, or by the shape of their body, or by how much money they have, or what they eat, etc. Maybe that person who we think is so different could end up being your best friend. But, children do need to use caution. Remember, safety in numbers? Don’t talk to strangers? Maybe that is just advice from old school readers. This fun adventure story with a message is good for the beginner reader or for a teacher to read to a preschool child to learn social skills.
