The quickest road is the best--at least, that’s what Anna the Halfling thought when she set out on a seldom-used roadway to a far away town with Dooley, a grumpy gnome spellcaster, in her charge. A powerful mage has hired her to escort the gnome and deliver a rare artifact much desired by an evil cult, and time is of the essence.
However, this abandoned road harbors as many secrets and dangers as Anna’s employer, and now she must complete her task on time, and more importantly, live to tell the tale. With an orc filled forest on one side of the road and a deadly swamp on the other, that may be a very difficult task indeed.
Dark & Deadly is a refreshing novella from the sword and sorcery Dark Tales Series.
