Participants in the sport of boxing are generally considered brutal, unthinking and violent. The superbly illustrated A Show of Hands beautifully dispels that misconception.

This book documents the lives of the young men and women who train and fight at the Border City Boxing Club on the Detroit-Windsor border, owned and operated by three-time World Champion Margaret Sidoroff. From students in elementary school to young adults from a variety of professions and backgrounds, these boxers love the sport and regularly train with serious gusto.
