Is being alone the same as being lonely?
At 14, Jane isn't quite sure. She lives alone with her mum and is the kind of girl who doesn’t have many friends, lacks self-confidence and is picked on at school.
Because something happened to Jane in her childhood that she has never really recovered from. It affects every part of her life and stops her from being “normal”.
Then her mum suddenly disappears, and Jane realises the only way she can find her is by re-examining her past.
