Dod, Betsy and Wee Tam are spending the Easter break at Dod’s father’s farm in the Carse of Gowrie.Dod discovers Duncan hiding in one of the barns. He has been accused of stealing from his employer and is wanted by the police. The trio set out to prove Duncan’s innocence and while doing so Dod and Betsy come to the attention of the Whisky Smugglers. The climax comes when the whole gang (including, of course, Rodriguez) confront the smugglers at the foot of Dunsinane Hill.
