Bradley is a twelve year old boy, growing up in a small town, struggling to find his way through his first year of middle school. He and his closest friends retreat to their daily hideout in the woods where unbeknownst to them another creature is hiding. Bradley's dreams of making the football team and winning the heart of the cutest girl in the school come crushing down on him as he is forced to reckon with the biggest bully in the school. Just as it looks as though things cannot get any worse for the young boy, he encounters a new companion. A young lion, kidnapped from his home in Africa, has escaped his captors while en route to an American zoo. These two companions find themselves linked in more ways than one, forming a bond that will have them relying on each other as they are on the run from authorities intent on bringing the boy home and capturing The Lion.
