My spirits were lifted as I soon discovered It did help, by making me smile As several years later I feel I've recovered Much more than I did for a while This animal helped in my Cancer recovery For I'm living proof, all the time By describing light humour, was a discovery So now I write nonsense in rhyme My verses were formed right out of the blue For an animal sounding forlorn I chose a Giraffe who lived in a Zoo That's exactly how Georgie was born.
