Sixteen-year-old Bailey Tucker has always dreamed of two things - being a part of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe, and becoming a detective like her dad and grandpa. But she inherited something from her grandpa that she never expected: the ability to see visions of the past and the future.

Baily is pleased that this family inheritance connects her with the mystical ways of the Southern Utes, until her dreams become frighteningly real. Especially when she has a vision of herself drowning, only to have it happen a few hours later while whitewater rafting. She’s pulled from the river by a gorgeous Native, who disappears before anyone else sees him. It’s only when the new guy saunters into town that she has a name to match the face: Kai Chiwaten.

After Bailey has a premonition of a deceased person with long black hair, she struggles to solve the mystery and save that person, who could be any member of the tribe, including her best friend, or Kai. When the crime scene and the premonition collide, Bailey’s dream of being accepted by the Ute community – and Kai – is shattered by a truth only she can see.
