Editorial Reviews From School Library Journal PreSchool-Grade 1-- When a rabbit and a monkey find a friendless dinosaur, they offer to be his friends and take him home. His habit of bouncing, however, causes him to be ostracized until he uses his elasticity to get rid of a nasty fox. The predictable plot is only slightly compensated for by Clark's watercolor illustrations. Her clothed woodland animals live in an English countryside in small houses. The monkey even drives a car. No explanation is given for putting these animals from widely different eras and areas together. The animals are not completely lacking in charm, and the illustrations in which the villagers are flying through the air due to Boris' springiness should garner some giggles. Given the huge appeal of dinosaurs, this book will probably find an audience, and children will not be bothered by the hackneyed rejection/heroic deed/acceptance theme.
