Timothy is just days away from his thirteenth birthday when he sets off on a summer sailing trip with his grandfather and a three-legged cat named Tripod. Together they explore new places, meet interesting people, and share in the adventure. While learning about sailing, the bay, and himself, Timothy also discovers love when he meets an intriguing fourteen-year-old girl named Amy.
