My Guardian Aliens

On a cold December night, three flashing lights are seen in the skies above Suffolk. In a local hospital, a man is introduced to his new baby daughter. An hour later he vanishes from the face of the earth, leaving a distraught family and a daughter who lives with the belief that somehow, she is responsible for his disappearance.
Cassie Jones thinks that she is just an ordinary teenager, except for the fact that her mother doesn't let her out of her sight and that her father vanished an hour after she was born. Her older brother, Charlie, has been dragged in to watching her, never having a moment to himself. They have both had enough.
Their first taste of freedom sets in motion a chain of extraordinary events that turns their world upside down. They learn that humans are not the only inhabitants of the universe and that Earth, their home, is home to beings from many other galaxies, not all of whom wish us well. But knowing who they are and which ones to trust proves to be more difficult than Cassie could have imagined. Friends and neighbours are not who you think they are and as Cassie discovers, neither is she.
What begins as an ordinary school day becomes a nightmare in which Cassie and her friends find themselves at the mercy of a mercurial being, who enjoys games so much that he has created the greatest game of all – Creation. When Cassie fails to solve his first puzzle, he sends them to the farthest reaches of space and time, where they meet with surprisingly familiar people and creatures, who will help and hinder them in their quest to return to their families. They will be tested to their limits and the only way they will survive is if Cassie faces her darkest fear…
