SYLVESTER

Marigold hides from from a group of annoying children on the beach near her home and discovers a lane she has never seen before. At the end of the lane is a shop and in the shop window are an amazing group of kites, all with very realistic faces. As she stares at them, the big black one winks at her! Startles, she thinks she must have imagined it but then she meets Lewis, the grandson of Horatio the Kite Maker and is invited in to meet him and the kites; she finds they are all truly amazing and weirdly - alive. Sylvester, the big black kite proves to be very rude and naughty but she soon learns to admire his strength and courage as together with Lewis and her cousin Sonia, she embarks on a hair-raising adventure to find a precious lost kite. If they are to succeed, they have to get the better of a wicked and mysterious lady who might, or might not, be a witch.
