Something Strange in the Cellar

language (George Chedzoy Jan. 20, 2014)
It’s the October school holidays and 12-year-old Louise Elliott and her friends Jack, his brother David and sister Emily return to the Welsh seaside resort of Abersoch. After an eventful summer the children are not expecting anything untoward to happen this time, but that’s before they come across a ramshackle farmhouse while walking across the moors. It’s the home of a lonely old lady in her 90s who's at her wits’ end, certain it’s haunted. But is it, or is there a more rational explanation? Headstrong Lou is determined to find out in this short novel, which is book three in the Lou Elliott mystery adventure series. Please note that the first chapter of book four, Trouble at Chumley Towers, is included at the end of the Kindle edition (but not the printed version) to give you a flavour of the next book in the series.

LOU ELLIOTT MYSTERY ADVENTURE SERIES by George Chedzoy:
1. Smugglers at Whistling Sands
2. The Missing Treasure
3. Something Strange in the Cellar (a shorter novel)
4. Trouble at Chumley Towers
5. Secrets in the Mountains

These are wholesome, traditional adventure stories, suitable for age eight and upwards, inspired to an extent by Enid Blyton, whom the author loved as a child. If you like her books, or the Nancy Drew mysteries, then this series should appeal.
