Set in World War Two, John, a geologist working in the Arctic, is called up to fight the Germans in France. What is he to do with his deceased friend’s dog? Betty, a Greenland dog, finds herself living in Hampstead - London, cared for by John’s niece Monica. As John fights and later escapes from the Germans, Betty and Monica have a few adventures of their own. War change’s peoples’ lives, but the bonds that exist in the heart are unbreakable.
