Shattered

This novel tells the story of a young eighteen-year-old girl named Rylee, whose life was flipped completely upside down, leaving her with a family that wasn’t her own. This unfortunate event leads to the happiest moments of the young teen's life. The story follows Rylee through her journey with happiness and self-discovery with a new family, followed by a traumatic mental illness experience that strips her of everything she once knew. Readers experience the heartbreak Rylee faces in being homeless as a teenager, losing friends left and right, having her family walk away, and all the pain that comes with these instances. Rylee loses a lot as she battles off the harshest monsters life throws her way, the cruelest of all being the version of herself she becomes in her struggle with mental illness.
