Toadshade and Jack

language (Larren Books, LLC April 6, 2015)
This is a story of nature’s flowering beauty in the early spring, set amidst an unspoiled woodland near White River in Indiana where a young boy named Jack is visiting in the home of his grandparents. Their home is nearly surrounded by a deep woods that includes a long cliff like hilltop overlooking the river, an abandoned canal and towpath. The story embraces the innocent imagination of a curious boy who by chance becomes acquainted with a wise American toad called “Toadshade”….that talks.

The real and imaginative worlds merge as the talking toad introduces Jack to the many spring wildflowers that make their appearance in the woods. The story is informational and can educate and delight the reader and for Jack, each day is an adventure.

So as the writer and illustrator of Jack’s story, I invite you to turn the pages and follow along with Toadshade and Jack .
