When Aiden Woodward gets lost in the great Okefenokee swamp, he meets a beautiful young woman who guides him back to the past and a mythological version of his own hometown. Aiden finds himself in battles fighting alongside elves and talking animals, facing down hellhounds, werewolves, and goblins.
But there are men and women there who are just as legendary as the beasts they are fighting, and they lead the defense of the small town against the armies of hell. The war will lead Aiden into many strange places: a hidden isle, an enchanted library, the terror of the Wild Hunt, and other paths even darker and more dangerous as he searches for a way back to his own time.
