In book two of the Chronicles of Ben Journeyman, a dwarf called Boldface Pathcutter comes to his aid. Ben is greatly helped by this brave dwarf, and goes through many strange and wonderful adventures with him. Book two tells us where Boldface came from, his parents and family, and how he came to be called 'Shieldmaker to kings'. In this book his story starts before Ben arrives, and tells of a war, and wizards, eagles and spells, and a mighty victory. Dragons fall, and an army is defeated, and through it all Boldface battles his own fears, and overcomes many obstacles as he is prepared by the Great King for his next adventure - the one that starts when Ben Journeyman arrives. For people who like a big story, with many characters, book two is another chunk of the essential history of the land and the people in the Journeyman world.
