Politicians are nothing more than thieves and crooks, as everyone surely knows. Nowhere is this statement truer than in Harael, a city where a thief-lord's reputation is everything, and stealing jewel-encrusted valuables in the dead of night is more about political intrigue than monetary gain.

So when Lord Vincent Tucat learns he's to be robbed, the idea of embarrassingly turning the tables on his unknown enemy and further enhancing his own reputation proves too tempting to resist. However, in a city ruled by thieves, burglary and politics often go hand in hand, and things are rarely as straightforward as they appear.
