Teen talent is the new, softer version of American Idol. Duke is selected by his school to play his piano and sing some old jazz standards. Surprisingly, he rises through the ranks. Problem is, so does a sinister goth bank called The Nyghtmare.
And one by one, bad things begin happening to the other contestants - especially the folk singer Silver, and vulnerable Nikki.
And then Jackson turns up drowned.
Duke's girl crush Miranda thinks they may all be part of a blood drinking cult called Sanguinarians.
Duke just thinks the Nyghtmare are using drugs or Absinthe to manipulate the voting. Until his best friend Eddie starts to change, too...
