Red Feather

language ( July 6, 2017)
Red Feather is the first book in a series of stories about a Native American girl called Lone Star. Lone Star feels she is different from the other girls in her village and she is becoming more and more estranged from her family. Even though her Father is becoming increasingly concerned about her, she is still allowed to spend time every day in the forest collecting plants for her grandfather, the tribe medicine man. It is here that she rescues a wolf who is caught in a trap and later meets Daniel the son of a family of white settlers. Lone Star continues to meet Daniel, but in secret, so on the night the two of them are trapped on Wolf Mountain no one knows where they are. Lone Star can only hope that her Father finds her before the wolf pack closes in. She does not know that one wolf is intent on keeping his pack away and guarding her and her friend. As the night unfolds Lone Star begins to realise that perhaps she is more loved and accepted than she thought.
