On a vacation with his parents and younger sister to Monument Valley, Arizona, Jason discovers a hidden chamber in a valley he is exploring. In the chamber, he releases the spirit of an Indian warrior, which was magically put there hundreds of years ago.
The spirit, called White Feather, takes up residence within Jason in hopes of living life away from the confines of his earthen cell. With the aid of the spirit and the skills it possesses, Jason demonstrates skills that surprises everyone.
It is a story of a young boy’s journey through the difficult years of 11, 12, and 13. He experiences all the issues facing a middle school student: the bullying, the heartache, and the triumphs. As a city boy, he surprises even his father with his horsemanship and love for the ‘round-up’. He develops a special relationship with one cowboy, Rod, who becomes his mentor and friend.
Jason’s big advantage in this growing is his spirit warrior White Feather. Advisor, skill giver, and counselor, the two have merged as one, into a very special boy.
